Musician Branding

This project focused on developing the branding for London-based jazz musician Charlie Joe Ralph, with an emphasis on two key elements: a new website and business cards. The goal was to create a brand identity that was simple, consistent, and aesthetically refined, allowing for flexibility as the artist’s career evolved.

My primary role centered on client communication and design strategy. To gain a clear understanding of Ralph’s vision, I researched and curated a selection of website designs and business card styles, presenting him with options that showcased different design approaches. This collaborative process helped define the visual direction and ensured that the final branding aligned with his personal and professional identity.

Once the preferred style was established, I created initial business card concepts, refining them based on feedback until we arrived at a design that met both functional and aesthetic needs. With the branding elements set, I transitioned to the website design, ensuring a cohesive visual language by maintaining a consistent color palette, typography, and overall style.

The website’s primary objective was to highlight Ralph’s musical expertise, band affiliations, and availability for teaching. Given that he is still in the early stages of his career, I designed the site as a single-page landing experience, avoiding unnecessary clutter while effectively presenting his skills and services in a concise, engaging format.
